When you plan a trip with friends, isn’t it the right thing to do and only fair to split costs and contribute in some way?

When planning a trip with a group or friends, isn’t it just common courtesy to help chip in for expenses, bring supplies, or contribute in some sort of manner? A friend of mine doesn’t seem to think so and expects a free trip.

I don’t understand why she isn’t paying for her own stuff.
Assuming that you guys are traveling by car, it should be common sense that everyone spilts the cost for gas. When it comes to things like food and such, all of you should be purchasing your own things anyways. 
I suggest sitting down with everyone and discussing costs because if she wants to go she needs to pay for her own things.

Yoooo I’d be kicking your friend out of those plans if she doesn’t wanna chip in wtf. What a moocher. My friends and I always split Airbnb costs, and gas. Obvs we pay for our own food if we out to eat, but other than that we all chip in

Everyone pays for themselves and then splits cost where necessary. Such as gas, sharing a hotel room and splitting the cost of that.
