Do you believe in marriage?

I’ve always grown up thinking of marriage as my end goal for a relationship... but now that I’m older idk what I think. I have a loving wonderful relationship but we’re in no rush to get married. We talk about growing old and having kids but marriage isn’t a priority. Maybe we’ll elope or something.

I’ve always dreamed of having a small simple wedding at a cute barn. But my parents divorced when I was 17, and my dad told me if I would invite my mom to my wedding he would not go... now he said that soon after they got divorced so I don’t know if he would change his mind but there is no way I even want to have a wedding if both of my parents can’t be there.. And have my dad walk me down the isle. it really upsets me.. and I don’t even like to think about it. so who knows we might just have to go to the courthouse 🙁 not how I dreamed but ..

Marriage should never be an end goal. For a successful marriage LOVE is the goal. If you make marriage the goal, you and your spouse stop putting into the relationship and stop sacrificing. I think this is one of the reasons for many failed marriages today. People think of the fairytale when they get married and live happily ever after. It doesn't end that way at all. It's just the beginning of a wonderful and selfless journey.

I used to think marriage and weddings were overrated but now I really want to have a cute & small wedding with someone I love....folks before me have fought for me, A Homosexual, to have the right to get married and damn right I’m going to honor that :D

I’m married but I did it for legal reasons. I love being married but it’s not something that was a dealbreaker for me. I’d still be with him, married or not, after all these years.

Rn my SO and I arnt married but that's because of dept. If something where to happen to him I would be left with Bill's up to my head. We decided that once all the dept is paid off then we will just get married at city hall and have a fake wedding for his mom and my parents to make then happy. Just a small little ceremony. We are doing a native American wedding which will be nice because there is no alchohol allowed.

It took us 9 1/2 years to get married. We were living together for 5 years. We got married up in the mountains with just our parents there. 2 days later we had a reception with the rest of the friends and family but it wasn't fancy or crazy.
