Anyone else afraid to sleep when baby does? I have to put my 8 day old down in his mamaroo if I need to get anything done because other than that he will only sleep on me or daddy. He absolutely hates being on his back in his bassinet and wakes and screams/ thrashes around immediately. We put him in his mamaroo if we have to but we stay up to watch him. DH and I have been taking shifts (I sleep 4 hours, he sleeps 4 hours) so that bubs gets some rest, but I’m starting to stress out about not getting to sleep or spend time with my husband, and I’m afraid baby won’t ever get into his own sleep space... anyone go through a similar experience and come out with a happy ending? Am I just expecting too much from such a new baby? Please any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

As an aside, we are not open to co sleeping as DH is too heavy of a sleeper so it’s just not in the cards for us, and we dont swaddle due to the SIDS risk (it’s a peace of mind thing, if it works for you then I’m all for it!)
