Membrane stripped (Long post)

I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and because I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension and I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks my doctor wants to induce me around 37 weeks. I am scheduled to be induced on Monday but my doctor wanted me to come back into the hospital today and have a none stress test done and be checked. This is after my appointment on Monday (1 centimeter, 60% effected, and -2 station). When I was there the baby’s heart rate was good and I didn’t have any contractions while I was there. When the doctor checked me I was 1 to 2 centimeter dilated, 80 % effected, and the baby is at 0 station. My doctor stripped my membrane and said I could be back this evening in labor (50/50 chance her words). I did take me a long walk around 2 stores hoping to help things along because I really don’t have to be induced I want to know what it is like to go into labor myself (this is my first pregnancy). I was just wondering if anyone has had there membrane stripped before and how long it took to go into active labor. I have had some contractions and some cramping but nothing too bad. Any advice would be greatly appreciate!!! Happy 4th of July!!!!
