I no longer have a MIL 🤷🏻‍♀️

My MIL came to our house to visit the kids the other day. She lit up a smoke right beside my 4mo daughter’s bouncer, and blew smoke everywhere. My 22mo old coughed like mad!

So I told her if she wanted to smoke, she had to get outside and chew some gum afterwards. She’s not to smoke in my house, or around my kids.

Her response: It’ll toughen them up. Get over yourself.

She took another puff, and my husband grabbed her by her arm and took her outside, telling her that if she’s going to disrespect me, and put our children at risk, he doesn’t want anything to do with her. And she shrugged and walked off.

He’s blocked her numbers, her social media accounts, everything. If he refers to her, it’s by her name, not Mum. I tried talking to him about it, but he’s set on his decision.

Some stuff happened in the past (drugs and abandonment) that also lead to this decision. So, I’ll leave it for a bit before bringing it up again.

Or should I just leave it at that?

Edit: He’s gotten rid of her completely, and she’s now moving 10 hours away. He won’t say goodbye, and honestly, we’ve been sooooo much happier without her in our lives.
