Have you ever had your membranes swept & did it work?

Dr is talking about inducing me but I don’t want to be induced a 3rd time so she said at around 37wks she’s going to try a membrane sweep to see if that gets me started on my own.

Is there a medical reason they’re wanting to induce early? If there’s no medical reason, I personally wouldn’t be comfortable inducing in any way (including ruptured membranes or membrane sweep)  until 39 weeks at earliest. If there’s a medical reason, than by all means do what’s best for you and baby.

Mine worked with my second. They gave me a sweeo because i was due christmas day and they wanted baby born before that. So they gave me a sweep two days before christmas eve.. labour started skowly the next day and was in full kabour at 10pm that night.m he was born christmas eve morning :)

With my first son i had 3 and none of them worked i had one at 39 weeks, 40 weeks and 41 weeks ended up needing to be induced instead. I'm booked in to have one with my second son at 39 weeks hoping it works this time round 🤞😁

My doctor won’t do a sweep earlier than 39 weeks. But I had one done at 39w2d with my first and I went into labor that night.

I had one just past 41 weeks and contractions started about 12 hrs later. I personally wouldn’t have one done any sooner though, they tend to work better when your body is ready. Unless of course there is a medical reason to try earlier.

I had it done at the appointment before going in for induction at 39 weeks with my last pregnancy. I don’t know where you live but any type of induction procedure is illegal in the United States before 39 weeks unless the baby is in distress.

Worked with my daughter at 39w but not with my son. 
I tried asking for one when I hit 37 weeks and my midwife said it's against the law to do one before 39 weeks whcih I found weird because they did mine with my son at 36 weeks. (From what I remember)
