Sweep success stories?

Hi ladies 
I am getting a sweep this morning to try and get things moving, I am 39+2 - getting one due to severe pelvic and tailbone pain.
Just wondered if anyone has any success stories of it working and if so how long after it was baby born? 
I am so ready to meet my bubba!

I had a sweep with my first and 3 days later had him. My labour was 18 hours and went perfectly ❤

I had a sweep done with my last baby at 39 weeks and had her three days later , I was already dilated to a 2 and 80% thinned so I think that help and it was my third baby too . Good luck I hope it gets things moving for you

Had a sweep done yesterday 38 weeks , 2cm no contractions etc woke up this morning and water broke . Was being induced today anyway

My midwife usually doesn't do a sweep on first pregnancy because it most of the time doesn't work. 
I got a sweep at 39 weeks my first time with my ob and nothing happened. Got induced at 41 weeks.
My midwife also said unless your already effaced and dialated, sweeps can be very painful and might not even work.

I had a sweep done at 39 weeks in the morning. I was already 3cm dilated to begin with. Throughout the day I cramped up, and had on and off again contractions. By later that evening, I had full blown contractions. I had my baby the next day at 11am.

My water broke during my sweep so you never know,  I was already 3cm dilated. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies! 
Had it at 11.30 this morning but not overly optimistic. Worth a try though! 
Currently got lower back cramping and also round the front below bump but no sign of mucus plug or anything! 
It’s just a waiting game!
