Am I overreacting?

Question

So the other day my SIL came over with her kids for a play date with my daughter.
I just finished decorating the nursery and showed her the finished design when she came over. 
We were playing outside and she went to put her youngest down for a nap. About an hour later she went to go get him and casually said oh I hope it’s okay, he’s sleeping in the baby’s crib. I didn’t say anything bc I was kinda shocked she didnt ask first. I didn’t say anything at the time but as time goes on I’m just sorta upset she did that. 
I wanted my little one to be the first to sleep in her room and I’m just frustrated she assumed it was okay. 
I know saying something won’t change anything but my feelings are genuinely hurt. 
Am I overreacting?

If she had asked would you really of said no? Ask yourself that because surely you'd want your niece or nephew comfortable at your home

Personally think it’s an over reaction. I’d be mad if she let the child run rampant in the room or eat a snack in the crib. But it’s a nap. Not a huge deal in my opinion.

I mean... she definitely should’ve asked first... but I personally don’t think it’s a big deal. Especially if all the child was doing in there was napping. It’d be different if they wrecked up the room, but I don’t personally see any harm in letting a child sleep in a crib. You’re entitled to your feelings, everyone is different, but maybe hormones are making it a bigger deal than it has to be? If she had asked, what would you have done different?

She probably should have asked first, but I'd say overreaction and not a big deal. I had my nursery set up for my first about a month before his due date, had several friends with small babies and made it perfectly clear to them all that if I wasn't needing the room it was theirs for naps, changing table, or they could go up there to breastfeed if they wanted privacy while over at my house. I had hoped they'd extend the same courtesy to me once my baby was here and they certainly all did. I considered it momming teamwork.

I totally understand being annoyed she didn’t have the respect to ask...but that being said...it would have been unreasonable to say no if she did ask. The room is empty and available.

Everyone's all about keeping germs away from baby but this doesn't count? I would have been pissed, she definitely could have asked. Nah, her little one could have napped in another room, couch, pallet, etc. That bed was for the NEWBORN hello! 🤦‍♀️ you have every right to be upset.

I would have been upset too and see where you’re coming from But at this point, there’s nothing you can do, so you just have to forget about it. Sorry this happened 😣
