How often do you hold your baby?

Question

I know it's hard to know the exact amount of time. Just an estimate, how often is your little one held? Or getting attention from you?
I am always paranoid I am giving too little attention or holding too little. I am not sure why I feel this way, but I always have mom guilt about it.

I definitely have mom guilt about this too. I honestly probably would hold my baby more but he actually prefers to be on the floor where he can squirm or in his swing playing with toys. He gets cranky when I hold him too much and that makes me feel bad about myself sometimes. He just is more content with some independent play time during the day.

Don't feel bad, it's good for them to get independent play time. I try to have my little guy play on his mat independently for about 10 minutes or so after each nap. He happily chats and plays with the toys and I get a few more things done. Win win!

She gets about 1.5 hours of independent playtime a day.

How many hours a day you mean?
Total.... excluding feedings cause there at 6 of those and they take 20-30min... about 1-1.5 hrs total.
I really try not to hold him toooo much... we do alot of walks... floor play... play next to each other on couch... explore with sensory activites
But holding him... its rare

I don't understand those who say all the time... Liek how do you go to the loo? Do tummy time? Sleep? Surely, you don't mean 24/7? Answering saying you hold your baby ALL the time can't be true. It just can't. And will just make thr OP feel bad? I don't mean to sound antagonistic, it just cant physically be true?
When my baby is awake and not being fed / changed, I'd say its fairly 50/50 for being physically held / in the carrier and not held - when not held he's doing tummy time, activity mat or in his swing. And those times I would say again it's 50/50 as to whether I'm actively playing with him or am pottering making lunch or making a drink etc. He takes most of his naps on me, so I use his "independent play time" to rush and get things done.
Calling it independent play makes me feel less guilty and like it's an actually thing.

Pretty much all the time. He’s our seventh though, so even if my husband or I’m not holding him, someone is! He’s breastfed so all his feedings are in my arms. We cosleep so he’s in my arms or really close all night long. At stores, he’s either held or in the sling, we don’t have a bucket seat. Sometimes he naps in my arms but usually at least one nap a day is in his mamaroo. He does sit in his boppy lounger with toys on his lap a couple times a day for 5-15 minutes at a time too.

He is only put down if he’s in his bouncer, being changed, or on his play mat. Oh and when i shower. When i pump I’m usually holding him or dad is. He sleeps at night in his bassinet but during the day sleeps on us
