Slept on my piercing😣😱

Bailey

I’ve been posting about everyday In this group and sorry if you see my posts all the time but I’m new to more advanced piercings and I want to make sure I’m doing everything correctly. I have my helix pierced on my left ear so I sleep on my right side. I do toss and turn at night, but for the first few days I was able to sleep through the night on my right side perfectly fine. However last night I did turn in my sleep to my left side (day 5 of having the piercing). I woke up in extreme pain at 5 am and went to check my ear. It was red and super angry and swollen. I was exhausted so I went back to sleep and either turned on my left side again or my ear was still irritated from the first turn. I showered, rinsed it off with warm water in the shower, did my sea salt soak, and saline rinse, and then noticed that when I turned it pushed the barbell in from the back, so now the front is sticking out more and the actual piercing hole is visible in the front of my ear (the piercer has the back of the barbell sticking all the way out and pushed all the way against the front of my ear if that makes sense). For the rest of the day my ear was swollen and full of pressure. I had my friend look at it and there is no puss. I also took some ibuprofen and the pain is minimal now. So my question is when do I know when to see a piercer? I want to make sure the barbell is in a safe position, since it did move with me sleeping on it for who knows how long, and I also want to make sure there is no infection. I don’t want to be annoying but I want to make sure It’s good. Also any tips on how to avoid turning in the night? At this point I don’t even want to sleep because this is super painful and want to avoid it at all costs.
