I’ve heard bad things about taking it to induce labor.. is it true??

I've talked to 3 different doctors about this. A baby only has a chance of pooping inside if you are over due, whether you take the castor oil or not. AND I was told by them that the castor oil only works if you are already dilated. I know I'm already going to get hate for this comment but whatever. My son is almost 3 weeks old. On my due date I went to my doctors and was only one cm dilated. He did a sweep and said I could take a very small amount of castor oil. I took 1 teaspoon in 1 cup of orange juice at 5pm that night. Midnight, I started having contractions and at about 230am they were 5 mins apart. We went in and i was still only 1 cm dilated so they sent me home at about 430am. 730 contractions got stronger and 930am I went back in. I was 4cm and in active labour and at 608pm I had my son. Perfect and healthy and no complications. Please do not reply if it's going to be hateful. To each their own. I know countless people who took castor oil with no complications

Yes. Look it up. Babies have died as a result of the mother attempting to start labor with castor oil.

Yep. Ir can make baby release meconium while still in the uterus and it can cause a lung infection that can kill baby.

With my last baby I had no idea it was bad for you so I drank it. My son did end up pooping while he was in there! Nothing ended up being wrong with him but I still feel guilty knowing that I was probably the reason that happened!!

There's other things you can try. I did nipple stimulation with my 1st and it worked. He was born on his due date. I read all you have to do is stimulate the nipple it causes the uterus to contract. Reason why they advice less nipple play during pregnancy. Just squeeze your nips and see what happens lol.
