Active on social media but NOT announcing?

Who else is NOT announcing their pregnancy on social media but is otherwise active on it? I know a lot of people are like “I don’t use social media so I’m not announcing on social media,” but I do use it, I like to share pictures in my insta story of my family/pets/life etc but I’m feeling kind of weird about sharing or not sharing my pregnancy. On the one hand, I don’t want to share because I feel like it’s nobody’s business, but on the other, as I get farther along it becomes a more impactful part of my day to day life so.. idk I guess I’m just getting my thoughts out there. 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️

I haven’t announced. I did with my first pregnancy but this time around I just feel like if you don’t know me well enough to see me in 9 months and hear the news in person then you don’t need to see it online.

I announced at 14 weeks, mainly because we were excited and wanted to share the news easily to people (obviously we told all our family and close friends before social media).
The second reason was because I didn't want anyone to find out from someone else. It almost happened, even though we hadn't announced yet! I posted a photo of me and my sister on her birthday, and my husband's grandmother posted a comment saying what an amazing aunt my sister was going to be!  Luckily I saw it immediately and was able to delete the comment, but I was annoyed since a lot of people still didn't know yet.  However, you're obviously pretty far along at this point, so everyone should know by now that you care about so you probably don't care if someone slips up.
I just mainly don't get the point of waiting once you're far along. I want to post photos from our summer activities and obviously I have a bump starting to appear. Even if we hadn't posted it on social media everyone would know by now anyway, so what's the point of avoiding it? 🤷‍♀️ Aside from our initial post announcing the pregnancy and one post later on with our name selection, I haven't made any posts specifically about our pregnancy, but I do get friends commenting on my little bump that has made its appearance, even though the post was just a generic photo of something like my husband and I at a baseball game. A lot of our family and friends don't live close by, so they like getting a glimpse of our lives from afar which is the whole reason I have social media in the first place.

We waited to post at 20 weeks for our first and are waiting for our ultrasound at 21 weeks for the 2nd. Honestly it’s been fun telling people and seeing their actual reactions in real life vs social media (emojis and likes)

We told people who were important to the babies life that we are expecting but the whole of social media doesn't matter much so we didn't announce there and have no intention of announcing 😂 I am a wee bit giggly over what is going to happen when we start posting pictures of our family with our new little one! Most people in our "family" don't know and will be shocked!

I guess it all comes down to oersinal preference i announced my pregnancy but kept the gender a secret, a friend of mine is further along than me and she made a post with requests about what she wants to happen when baby arrives, such as, no one announcing her birth befote her, and no vax no visit, stay away if you're the slightest bit sick, no kissing baby,  along with a few more things on the list so that can be an upside to posting on social  mrdia.

I'm on it but not announcing. Personally this is because while we were ttc for over a year every single announcement was a dagger to the heart and I don't ever want to make someone feel that way. I'm half tempted to just post something casually, like maybe on our anniversary be like "5 years and 2 babies later and I wouldn't change a thing" just kind of slip in there and not make a big to do about it

I feel the same. I’m 21 weeks and all our family, close friends, and my work family know. I was planning on announcing on social media but the longer I wait, the less I’m interested in sharing it with everyone else. I feel like all the important people know. This is our last baby- who also is our rainbow 🌈 baby.. we have 3 daughters already (7, 11, soon to be 13).
