Why or why not? I’m not on it because it’s messed with my body too much and I just don’t believe in it. My mom made me be on it when I was in high school.

I was on hormonal birth control for 8 years until my husband and I were ready to start TTC. It was one of the best health decisions I made.
It made my periods manageable and regular. Instead of throwing up from pain and rushing to the bathroom to change my extra absorbency tampon every two hours for three days straight, I could actually function like a normal human being.
It helped me deal with hormonal emotional swings that accompanied my monthly cycle. I could actually wake up and go to class, rather than sleep through my alarm and just lay there like a blob.
By stopping monthly ovulation, it helped to reduce my risk of developing ovarian cancer. My grandmother died from this disease, so it's a matter close to my heart.
When I came off birth control, my cycle regulated immediately, without any issues. I suffered absolutely no effects from long term birth control use.

Yes, after three pregnancies and two children I am done. That door has been shut, locked and dead bolted a million times. Birth control helps me be proactive with that.
