Alice is finally here! Almost 2 weeks overdue. I was scheduled to be induced on the 13th at 4am. That morning I called to make sure the hospital wasn’t busy and we could go in, but there were no rooms available. So we were having to wait longer. But I was starting to get contractions, they kept on getting closer and closer (lasting 1 min and 3-4 min apart!). I was getting worried I wouldn’t make it. I had also been 5cm dilated and 90% effaced for almost a week. So I called the hospital back and told them I needed to go in. We showed up at 5:30am and they put me on the IV (I’m group b strep positive) so I needed to be on that ASAP. They checked me and I was 7cm dilated and 100 thinned! My contractions were really strong at this time. I was also going all natural, so no drugs or pain meds. They were strong but bearable, I was on the yoga ball and on my hands and knees on the bed. I needed to be on the IV till at least 9:45 for the antibiotics to kick in. I started to feel the need to push around 9:30 and they told me I needed to wait a little longer (my water had already broke) it was so hard not to push. I needed to start pushing so I did. I only pushed a couple times and she was here! She was born at 10:02 so just in time for the antibiotics to work. That was the most amazing experience ever and everything went so smoothly and better than I had expected it too. I feel like a badass for doing it all natural and not feeling the need to use any meds! All the nurses and my midwife were so impressed and so was my husband. So was I 😂 I’m definitely not the bragging type but i have to brag a little lol.
She was 7lbs 15oz and 20inches long. She couldn’t be any more perfect 🥰😭 I’ve never loved anything more.
