Baby size

Does genetics play a role in determining how big baby will be? My husband and I were well over 8 lb. He was also a long baby and is over 6ft now. Does this mean I'm more likely to have a big baby? I haven't had an ultrasound since 16 weeks. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow.

My husband and I were well over 10lbs at birth lol (we were big baby's) anyway our eldest was 6lbs 4oz and our youngest was early but weighed 3lbs 6oz. Hoping this baby is no bigger than 8 lbs lol

I was planning on asking my dr the same thing next time I go. I was almost 10 lbs and I’m terrified of having a 10 lb baby 😩
