Has anyone gone through an induced termination?

Question

We found out this week that our baby boy has exencephaly. Basically, he has no skull and the amniotic fluid is destroying his brain. We will be lucky is he survives a few hours after birth, if he is even born alive at all. 
We have decided to end the pregnancy and the only option our hospital offers is inducing labor to end the pregnancy. I'm 15, almost 16 weeks. 
Has anyone been through an induced termination? Do you mind sharing your story?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. 
I haven't been through it personally, but there is another option of having a D&E if delivering is not something that you want to go through. Your hospital may not do it, but another hospital or a surgical center may.

I haven't, but I just wanted to say I am so sorry you're going through this. I couldn't imagine hearing such terrible news about my baby and having to make such a hard decision. My heart hurts for you. 💔😢 Stay strong, mama.

Hi Katie - I am so so sorry for your loss. Our daughter (19 weeks) was just diagnosed with exencephaly yesterday and are completely devastated. You are not going through this alone and my thoughts are with you ❤️

I am so sorry you are going through this. I was not induced but I did deliver my baby at 17 weeks my second pregnancy. She was born alive and I was able to hold her while she passed. After she was delivered the placenta wouldn't detect witch they said is common when delivering that early. I was give a shot to help with contractions and it finally came out. 
It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through and it took a while for me to heal. At first I wanted to be left alone for the first week. After that family started coming around to help with cleaning and food and to just sit and talk. Having their support was a big help. My husband was also amazing. We were really there for each other and it really brought us together. 
Every one handles grief differently so don't let anyone tell you how to handle it or how long to take to grieve.

I’m so sorry. My mother has been thru this. Baby survived a few hours after birth and she was allowed to hold him. She said it was like a normal birth only baby came out very easy because he was tiny (she was around 20 weeks) but she still had a normal labour. 
I feel for you, mama. 💓
