I am pregnant with my first. I found out Monday and was 4 weeks yesterday. I called Tuesday and made an apt with my OB, her protocol is that the first visit is between 9-10 weeks. I am scheduled for August 29th. I asked about blood work for hcg levels and they asked my OB and she said that it isn't necessary since I've recieved a positive on a digital and those require more hcg and I've missed my period. Is this normal, do other OBs bypass hcg blood work?

Any advice is helpful
