Induction for days?

Question

Due to hbp I was sent to the hospital to get induced. I’m still closed but cervix was soft. So far they’ve given me a mini pill that dissolved in my mouth & I can already tell she’s dropping a lot. What should I expect next?

When I went for my induction at 39+3 Friday night they told me 12-36 hours. I was 1cm dilated and barely effeced. 
They gave me cervidil pill vaginally for the max dosage (maybe 4 or 6??) then orally for the max dosage. 
I had “excellent” contractions- strong, painful, close together. 
After 24 hours of “excellent” and extremely painful contractions I was 2cm dilated.
I wanted a natural labor but broke down from exhaustion and took the epidural. 
It took another 12 hours to dilate to 10 cm and my epidural started to fail in the last 4 or 5 hours (worked on 1 side only).
I then pushed for 2.5 hours.
It was a really difficult labor and delivery and I would never do it again if it wasn’t medically essential (Baby had suspected IUGR - but was born at a normal weight 6lb11oz). 
So if you’re a first time mom expect 12-35 but pray to god you’re on the 12 side!
