Maca root??

Question

So I got maca root capsules because I heard it increases sex drive but then after buying some I started reading more into it online and read it makes you gain weight 😭 is this true? I’m not trying to gain weight

There's insufficient evidence that it does anything at all, other than offer a few nutrients. Considering the fact that it has been a staple crop for the indigenous peoples of South and Central America for thousands of years, it's unlikely to do much damage - the same can be said of the good old-fashioned potato. However maca has only become a "traditional medicine" in the North American market in the last 20 years or so, after being adopted by Chinese herbal medicine in the 1990s.
Maca probably would do wonders for fertility if you were starved for carbohydrates, like the Andean peoples 2000 years ago would have been (along with their cattle, they supplemented the natural foraging of thier livestock with maca to increase fertility, but again this is likely just because of the energy boost of the carbs). Considering today's high-energy diets though, not so much.

I didn't gain weight while on them but they can increase fertility so be careful if you aren't trying to have a baby.

It’s increases your fertility as well. I got pregnant the first month after using it after trying to get pregnant for 5 years. It’s a miracle drug🥰🥰
