Heat chafing on foreskin

Has anyone else ever had an issue like this with their SO? My husband works outside in the heat all day, at least 5 days a week. He said he gets a lot of chafing in his general genital region, from his Willie to his butt, but his foreskin gets the brunt of it. It has gotten so bad, that his penis has swollen up, and he needs to get in the shower to pee, because it hurts so bad. He said it happens every once in awhile, and usually just lasts a few days. He doesn't wear underwear, so I obviously suggested that. Also, he had been putting polysporin on, just because it is a lotion that doesn't burn. But he refused to go to the doctor🙄. It's been hurting him for around a week now, and we can't even have sex anymore.
