Chemical Pregnancy

Kristin

I am crushed. My husband and I are going through IVF and had our embryo transfer on July 5th. I took pregnancy tests earlier in the week that came back positive, first a faint line, then a positive digital, then a stronger line. Yesterday we went for our blood test, and (after waiting for 8 hours for them to finally call with the results) we were told it was positive but the hCG was only 20, when it should be 500. They said it was most likely a chemical pregnancy, but there is a chance it is just late implantation. I took another test this morning and the line was much fainter than before. I guess we lost our little embryo girl. I feel like there was something I did wrong that made her not stick. Or maybe I jinxed it by getting excited when the home tests were positive. We’ve been trying to get pregnant for 2 years and doing all the IVF things for 6 months. I feel like everyone I know is pregnant, and I though it was finally my turn.
