Anyone traveling soon?

Just curious to see if anyone is planning on flying soon? Any restrictions or any thoughts? I've heard that before 36 weeks it is still considered safe. 🤔

As a flight attendant I have some advice. Most airlines allow you to fly up to 36 weeks but if they feel you may be further along they can request a doctors note with your expected due date on it. Definitely book an aisle seat, prepay for the seat if need be, access to the bathroom will be easier. Drink a lot of water, flying is extremely dehydrating- even short flights. Buy some compression socks to help keep your blood flowing and reduce swelling. Stand when you can but keep in mind that you can go through turbulence at anytime and the pilots don’t always have time to put the seatbelt sign on before it comes. Turbulence can be very dangerous. Pack snacks, wear loose clothing and wear layers so you can cool off or warm up as needed. You’ll likely find it hot in the plane. Have travel insurance that covers pregnancy. Last but not least, get a copy of your chart from your doctor and travel with it, in case you need medical attention at the airport or at your destination.

31 Weeks and I flew yesterday 11 hours from London to San Diego (last chance to see family before bubs arrives). Had a note from my midwife saying she was fine with it just in case the airline asked, wore very sexy compression socks, sat in the aisle and had loads of snacks and a large bottle of water in my purse. I just made sure to get up at least every two hours and do some in seat exercises and I felt totally fine afterwards with no swelling!

Nope. I flew third trimester with my first and I was miserable in those lil economy seats.

I just flew (5 hour flight) at 32 weeks and was completely fine! I did get the seats up front with a little extra leg room 😊 my doctor just told me to drink lots of water and get up and use the bathroom a lot. My feet swelled just a little bit but went right back to normal after the flight!

I just got back traveling from CA to D.C. The flight there was ROUGH. I was in the back in a middle seat. My feet and my hands were so swollen (first time my hands were swollen!). On the way back, I got a much better seat. I was able to elevate my feet, walk a bit, and I brought snacks. Made a huge difference.

I haven’t travelled since 26 weeks. Request an aisle seat so you can easily get up to use the restroom and walk around, pack more snacks than you think you need!
