Dilation Check

I’m 36+1 and had my first dilation check. I’m already 3cm dilated and 60% effaced. Any STM have experience with how long after this stage you went into labor? I know everyone’s different, but I’m trying to wrap my brain around this- i was not expecting her to tell me I was already 3cm dilated!😱
