Any other first-timers scared they won’t realize they’re in labor?

Question

This is probably not a rational fear, but I’m scared I’ll mistake contractions for regular pregnancy pain/baby movement/pelvic pressure and not get to the hospital in time 🤦🏼‍♀️. 
And it seems like everyone says “oh you’ll know when it’s a contraction,” but then I see posts from ladies (some STM!) who didn’t realize it was happening until they got strapped to monitors. 
I haven’t had any BH or intermittent contractions so I have no idea what they’ll feel like! 
38+3 today.

I’m assuming this will be happening to me! I’m getting new pains/symptoms every day and I’m like...”is this it?!” I’m fully expecting to go to one of my appointments and have my OB be like “girl, go next door. Now” 😂

Yep! I’m pretty dismissive about pain and discomfort in general, so even my hubs is worried 😂 I’m sure we will though!

I didn’t really realize I was with my first. I had bad period like cramps all day and ended up being 6 cm when I got to the hospital. It got more painful after that though and it was obvious I was in labor lol

I’m a stm and not sure if I’ll know. I didn’t know my water broke the last time and it started at 9am and i didn’t have a contraction till after 8pm that night. I’m afraid this one I won’t pay attention to the contractions cause I have a high pain tolerance and cannot remember what the contractions even felt like- I had like two and they said I could have an epidural cause I was already dilated. We’ll see.

My former MIL told me that she didn’t know she was in labor with her youngest...apparently, her mother noticed that her stomach was tightening every once in a while. Though, I don’t know how much I believe since she liked to lie about things...

I swore I wasn’t in labour or if I was it was just early labour but then when I went in and got checked I was actually 8 cm and started pushing an hour later 😳

I feel the same way. Like I’ve cramped all day but they are continuous so no stopping or ending. I feel him so far down and so heavy. I feel like I gotta poop. I’m just like I have no idea lol. I just hope my water breaks like a damn gush that way I absolutely know

Im on my 3rd and still worry abiut not knowing. My first i kept going back to sleep and barely made the hospital to have him. I thought it was just BH contractions,  my 2md i obly new that any tightening was contractions cause my dr broke my water during a sweep. So i was expecting it.
This 3rd one im back to being clueless, unless my water breaks lol.

I didn’t realize I was in labour until like 5 hours in. I knew I was having tightening but it wasn’t painful until that evening, so all day I just did normal things. Then I realized it was labour because I had lost my mucous plug the night before and it started to come out again. I spent 6 hours labouring in the bath at home and then went to the hospital when my contractions were 3 mins apart and I was 5cm. My biggest fear was going to the hospital and being sent home for not being far enough along so I waited until my hubby forced me to go 🤣. I probably would’ve stayed in the bath for another few hours if he didn’t make me go LOL
