36 week exam, 2cm dilated 🙂

Had my first dilation and effacement exam today at 36 weeks and a whole bunch of stuff happened. 1. Doc said I'm just about 2cm dilated! Wasn't expecting that! No effacement though, which she said is normal. 2. Told me I'll need to be induced a week early. I have hypertension, and while my bp's been good lately they don't want to risk it shooting up in the last weeks and triggering pre-eclampsia 😔. I really wanted to experience going into labor spontaneously, but at the end of the day if getting induced means less risk for my baby girl then I'm all in. 3. Mucous plug was partially dislodged as a result of the exam! I went to pee right before leaving the office and there it was when I wiped. It was alarming to see because it wasn't a subtle pale glop of mucous like I've seen in photos... It was scary red and accompanied by fresh looking blood. Since I was still at the doctors I showed her a pic and she said it's normal. So this baby's cooking for another 3 weeks at most, but could come naturally all on her own any day now! So excited and scared and all the feels!
