Postnatal Anxiety - Baby Health

Caitlyn

Just reaching out..:

My baby was placed in hospital with scalding skin syndrome (a staph infection contracted in hospital nurseries) at 12 days and again at 5 weeks old. She’s recovered fabulously. And is now 9 weeks old, and is thriving.

But I am suffering with crippling anxiety in regards to her health. I take her temperature all the time, watch her face for any new scratches or marks and if the slightest thing is amiss I go into panic mode, fearing the worst. SIDS, meningitis, sepsis anything! I can’t think straight and it’s affecting my relationship with my very chilled husband. It doesn’t help that I’m a clinical pharmacist in a hospital so a bit of knowledge can definitely be the most dangerous!

Has anyone experienced anything like this or have any tips to get through?
