How often are you breastfeeding?

Hi ladies- how often are you feeding your LO during the day? My baby boy is 6 weeks tomorrow (😭) and he eats like clockwork every 2.5 hours, during the day. Literally at 2.5 hours from the START of the last feeding he will start to fuss or scream- he knows! The issue is sometimes we feed for 18 minutes and sometimes 50 minutes! I feel like as soon as we are done with one feeding, it’s almost time for the next. Anyone else know the feeling and any suggestions??? I know I am fortunate that I can provide for my son in this way but I feel like a milk slave!

Yep! Same. Mine eats every hour, sometimes every 45 mins and he eats for like 15-20 mins so I literally feel like its ALL I do. I just Googled it to make sure its okay hes eating so often and it said its normal. Basically the first 2 months all you're doing is nursing. Thats why so many people switch to formula. Hang in there mama!

My 7 week old seems to eat every 1-1.5 hours during the day unless he’s napping (usually 2-2.5 hour naps). Then at night it’s usually about every 3.5 hours.

My almost 8 week old is nursing every 2-2.5 hours from the start of her feeds too! And ever since I switched to offering both breasts, we are nursing for at least 30 minutes (15 on each side). She’s such a lazy eater and once letdown is over, she just really takes her time haha. But that hind milk is so important and I’ve been working hard to get my supply up that I’m just thrilled she’s eating more.

My midwife told me not to nurse for longer than 30 minutes. I can usually tell when my LO is done feeding and when he's just nursing for comfort so I let him go for a minute or two then cut him off.

Mine eats about every hour to every hour and a half, from the start of the last feeding!! Mine last more like 10-18 min (on average) but it still feels like it is ALL DAY LONG!!

3 week old son. During the day he eats every 2 hours. From 6am till midday. Then he sleeps till 3pm, but from 3-8pm it’s every hour on the hour.

My little girl is 7 weeks, during the day she will eat every 2-3 hours but at night she sleeps anywhere from 3-6 hours at a time. She likes to be held, so during the day if I keep her in the carrier strapped to me she will sleep longer than if i just put her down

Usually every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 at night. He’s in a growth spirt right now so it’s more like every 2 hours day and night
