EDIT: as i have gotten multiple questions of my age i am 17 years old now but was 16 when this has occurred. we have been together multiple times and we are best friends so no we were not in a relationship. hope this helps clarify things.

EDIT #2: i live in california

So after months and months of lying to my mom about having sex i finally told her the truth. the guy i did it with is 18 and i'm a minor and she clearly has a very strong hatred for him now and she has called him many not nice names and wants to ruin his future for having sex with me. as you can imagine that this whole situation is already humiliating enough it gets worse. long story short my mom wants to hire people to go jump the guy and half kill him as she says in her own words, she also wants him arrested, she wants sex offender listed on his record, she wants a restraining order against him so he can't go to the same school as me and can't see me anymore, she also bought a separate phone so she can send him back all the nudes he sent me to basically taunt him and freak him out. she said the ONLY WAY to save him from this is if i no longer speak to him which i don't even want to think about as he is practically the only person i hang out with during the school day and talk to a lot of the time. she is going to have people spy on me and pay them to make sure that me and him don't talk. i want to keep this friendship by i also want to save him more then i want to save or protect myself. he knows my mom caught us and etc but i told him she was over t so he wouldn't worry as much because he was getting really worried. any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Side note: these are the laws i researched,

- Any person who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is more than three years younger than the perpetrator is guilty of either a misdemeanor or a felony, and shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.

- A) An adult who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor less than two years younger than the adult is liable for a civil penalty not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000).

- Anyone who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under age 18 and the actor is not more than three years older or three years younger, is guilty of a misdemeanor

(from my understanding it seems as if it is saying that since he is not three years younger than me and i'm not three years younger then him than it seems as if he would not be guilt of a misdemeanor based on the last statement i copy and pasted from up above, it also seems as from the second to last statement that i copy and pasted from up above it seems as since he is less then two years older then me that he will be only fined $2,000? not sure if i'm interpreting this right though)
