This is my sweet sixteen dress, it’s kind of a controversial topic in my family right now. Some think it’s to grown up or revealing because it’s a two piece. I love and was wondering what everyone else thought since nobody in my family likes it.

First I wasn’t to say thank you all for the wonderful comments you all made me feel so much better about it. I also want to clear up a few things that some of you are confused on. My mom didn’t like the idea of a two piece but when we found the dress she fell in love it just as much as I did. It’s mainly my aunts, uncles, and cousins that don’t like it. Now for the people who are curious about what a sweet sixteen is, not a lot of people in my family have had one or plan to have one but when I talked to my mom about it she agreed to have one for me. So to me and my mom its more of a coming of age/ growing up. The place that I come from you can get your learners permit to drive at 16 and get your license at 16 and a half. So it’s almost like getting independence for myself.

I had my final dress fitting a few days ago and I’m super happy with my dress but most of my family is now no longer going to my sweet sixteen and I’m a little sad about. You all made me realize that I shouldn’t care about what people say I can and can’t ware and the only thing that matters is that my mother and I like love it. So here is the final picture of my dress before my party and also I’m finally 16 so yay.
