Is this normal for your period can do this?

I am just now starting my period for this month! I am having brown discharge with blood mixed in, but nothing comes on my pad but i do wipe brown discharge with blood very lightly sometimes.

I really don't know if this is normal to do but i have been on flagyl last month for my recurring bacterial vaginosis that keeps recurring over and over which i do plan making an obgyn doctor appointment soon.

My husband and I are planning on trying for another baby but i want to be free of bacterial vaginosis but it seems like when i do take flagyl my period comes late or i missed that month.
