What kind of light do you change your LO?

When you are up multiple times a night, which lighting do you use to change baby? 😊

Straight up lamp but my girl starting sleeping through the night at 8w so it would have been pointless. We stopped night changes around 6w because she would dream eat and was only getting up once during the night and I wasn’t going to wake her up for a diaper that wasn’t bothering her.

I have a nightlight in her room with a red bulb. Warm lighting isn’t as harsh so it’s easier for her to fall back asleep but still gives me the light I need to see👌🏼

My daughter consistently pooped right after eating for the first month of life. During those feedings and subsequent diaper changes I would go out in the living room and change her by the light on the tv. She had severe silent reflux so I had to keep her completely upright for 30 minutes after every feed and I’d usually watch tv or read my kindle to pass the time. The tv was more than enough light to change her by. After that first month, she stopped eating so often and stopped pooping at night most of the time, so she rarely needed diaper changes in the middle of the night, but I did have some touch lights next to my nursing chair and the changing table in our master bedroom just in case.

I have a book light clipped to my rocking chair that shines enough to change him too.

I have a portable lantern that you can open or close as much as you want to adjust brightness. I try to keep it as dim as possible because strong light interrupts sleep for both you and baby.
