Repeat anatomy scan

Ra

I’ve commented in a few different groups, but looking for some reassurance from other mommas.

We had our anatomy scan today at 19 weeks 4 days and they said everything looked perfect. No clubbed feet, no cleft lip, all parts of the brain visible, umbilical cord and belly look good, etc. However, the ultrasound tech couldn’t get an image of the RVOT (right ventricular output tract). His heartbeat was strong and regular (136bpm), they saw the LVOT and the heart beating, and they assured me he was just in a bad position for the image and not to worry. They are having me come back in 3 weeks for a rescan to get a better image of the RVOT.

Has this happened to any other mommas? Rescans for any reason that turned out okay?

From what I’ve read, he should be okay, but I’ve had a severe anxiety disorder for 10 years and am unable to take my medication while pregnant to avoid any risks. Any reassurance would be great, because these next few weeks are going to be torture!

Fingers crossed he’s just being stubborn and we’ll get good news in a few weeks. Here’s my baby giving the ultrasound tech the bird today, lol.
