my life is over

I’ve had this rash for about 2 months and it started after i shaved with old razor and was wearing pads that actually irritated it even more. When the rash first happened i went to my OBGYN and did blood and a culture and everything came back Negative . Recently i went back to my OBGYN because the rash and bumps are still there and when she looked she said it looks like genital herpes. My life ended at that very moment. She did a culture on that area and i’ll get my results back this week but now i have to take Valacyclovir 1GM...how soon does it work? i am on my second pill
