6w1d and this happened...

Miki

I called the midwife and she said I should go to A&E. When I got there the doctor took my urine sample and did a pregnancy test which came back positive. She then felt my tummy and said it felt nice and soft, no tension or anything, which apparently is a good sign. She defined it as “light bleeding” and said it happens and in up to 70% of cases the baby is fine and everything will be fine. She said there’s no way of knowing if this is a sign of a miscarriage, and I just have to wait.

I have an early pregnancy scan on Monday I will be 6w3d, but I’m really scared as anything could happen over the rest of the weekend. I just had a miscarriage in May so I’m terrified at the idea of seeing blood!

I just don’t understand why they won’t do a blood test? Since I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago I haven’t had a single blood test to check hCG levels! I’m sure if I was about to have a miscarriage the levels would be abnormal and they could let me know so I can prepare myself? Or on the contrary, they could reassure me that my levels are fine and that I’m not likely to be miscarrying? Instead of just telling me to wait. The urine pregnancy test can still be positive while you’re in the middle of a miscarriage so I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t do a blood test to confirm...

Anyone has had similar blood loss in early pregnancy and ended up being fine?

I’m so scared of losing it...
