Baby isn’t active today?

Usually he moves so much throughout the day, today I’ve only felt him maybe 2-3 times. I’ve been having BH every 30 minutes, and pressure in my pelvis. Should I worry about the lack of movement? 38+3

Babies don’t move less for lack of space. The movements just change. So if it’s less, you should go in and get monitored

Keep an eye on it but babies move a bit less toward the end due to lack of space. If you’ve been active all day, try lying down to kick count. Also, sometimes BH can make movement hard to feel.

I talked to my doctor about movements feeling like they are occurring less often and just feel different overall rather than the usual kicks that occur constantly and the flutters, etc. The way he explained it is that at this point, baby’s movements are much more deliberate. They aren’t just in there flailing around like they may have done between 25-30 weeks when they were much smaller and their nervous system was much more immature. So, yes, they should still be moving. However, he said it’s hard to put a number on it as to how much kicks per hour you should feel because lots of variables play a part in the number of baby’s movements.
He also said that we often have bad days or lazy days, and that babies are no different than us. 
I try not to stress and count kicks. I just stay aware of the fact that I’ve felt a few things here and there every few hours. If I feel like it’s been an hour or two without feeling something pretty strong, I’ll poke around and drink something and then lay down if I need to.
