With my first I went off about a month before my due date. I was way too uncomfortable at work and just needed time to get some stuff ready before baby came. I have worked with people that worked until the day before their due date though.

I think I worked up until my due date. Maybe took a day early. I feel I'm one of the few lucky moms that gets 3 month paid maternity leave. My supervisor even managed to get me an extra week of time with my son. When I am at work, I don't take a whole lot of time off, barely take a sick day. So my hours accumulate.. I even get bonus days for every 6 months I don't call out sick... hence the extra week.

I went off 4 weeks early. If depends on how long you're off for. If you only have 12 weeks I'd wait till the last possible minute to get the most time with your baby.I'm off for 18 months so I didn't mind going off early

With my first I went out 4 weeks before due date...but was induced 2 weeks later. For this one, I'm also going out 4 weeks early, but hoping to make it all the way without induction. It's so dang hot and I'm so uncomfortable that I need the rest time before baby gets here.

I had no choice but to leave work early because I have been having really scary migraines that mimic symptoms of a stroke, so I’m on maternity leave at 30 weeks 😳 it’s not what I was expecting and I don’t get maternity leave payments until 6 weeks before the EDD, but I certainly don’t want to have work stress (I worked as a high school teacher) give me high blood pressure, migraines, or let alone a stroke! Luckily we have a welfare system that will support you temporarily if you have to leave work because of sickness.

Stopped work at 35/6 weeks! I knew I didn’t have to go back to work so I’m very fortunate. It was nice to relax... sleep and feel my son move and get to know his routine in my tummy if that makes sense I was a career that went too clients home and it was the hottest summer in the UK for 40 years! 2nd time round I’m a stay at home mum.

I stopped at 37 weeks and get a year of mat leave but the last week was extremely extreme hard because my job requires me to be on my feet. I think it really depends on your pregnancy and your jobs demands.

I’m taking leave when my water breaks . I would love to take before but unfortunately I only get two weeks paid from work then have to use paid time off so I need to work till I go into labor . Which sucks cause I have a very physical job
