What do you say when strangers try to touch your baby?

My daughter (7 months) is super social and smiles at everyone. For some reason certain people think this is an invitation to touch her (arm, hand, back usually). I just move her away so they get the point but I’m wondering what everyone else does/says in this situation.

“Can you not” was my go to lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ my baby was chunky so everywhere we went people wanted to touch her and at first I’d smile and move her away or stand between her and the person but that didn’t always work so I grew a pair and started being rude lol

Move them away and if that doesn’t stop them I ask when their last vaccinations were lol

I start touching them in the same way they are my child. They look st me all confused and I'm like "weird isnt it!" With a smile. 😁🖕

I’m the odd one out (BUT if you aren’t comfortable with something happening to your child whatever you choose is A okay). I’ve only ever experienced older people touching my daughter. Usually it’s a tap on her arm or touching her curls, just a sweet soft touch. Like I said though they have all been older women. If I felt weirded out in any way I would ask them not to touch her. I think for the older women seeing a beautiful baby reminds them of their time with their own sweet babe and they get caught up in reminiscing, you can see it in their eyes. I usually smile and move on! There are also cultures where touches like that are normal and I try to remember that not everyone has the same culture as me and to try to not be rude if I’m not about it. Just politely say “I’m glad you find her sweet but I would rather not have people I don’t know touch her”. That’s probably how I would go about it because I’m not super confrontational! Buuuuut if it’s creepy you best back off cause mama bear is coming for ya 😂

I move him! & tell them flat out idk the last time you washed your hands. & at this stage he puts his hands, feet, everything in his mouth.

I hate this and I don’t understand wh people think it’s ok to touch a child they don’t know. I try to just move my baby out of their reach if I can’t or they keep trying, I just ask them if they could please not touch them and smile x

I move my body between baby and the toucher while making a disgusted, sneering face and saying no, nope uh uh. I didn't actually realize I was doing it until my brother pointed it out, but it seems effective 🤷🏼‍♀️
