First time potty training, and I have questions

Our toddler potty arrived today and I set our daughter on it, read her a book or two, and she pooped! That was very exciting, but I have lots of questions.

I wipe her with baby wipes because I feel like that’s cleaner than toilet paper. But what do I do with the poopy wipes? I don’t think you’re supposed to flush them. But that means poop covered wipes go in the trash can?? (We have a diaper genie in her room but there’s no space for it in the bathroom).

I had to dump the poop into the potty. But then what? Some of it was stuck to the bottom and I had to go in there with my TP covered hand and get it out 🤢. Then I went to wash it out by rinsing it in the tub but I felt like that contaminated the tub (the place that’s supposed to get her clean). Then after rinsing, I had to go to the kitchen to get Lysol and paper towels.

Surely there must be a much more simple process. What’s your potty training set up? How do you clean out the potty? Where do you put the dirty wipes? Do you just leave a few pull ups and a container of wipes in the bathroom?

*Although I’m very open to advice and help here, I’m not interested in any type of potty training tips that involve going directly to undies or the free bottom method where I would have to clean up pee and poop from all around the house.
