Fever n breastfeeding

Ashley • Hi!! We have a 4 year old daughter Liliana Sue n our 🌈Savannah Grace is almost 10 months now!

So out of nowhere on our way home from a family bbq I get a massive headache, chills, body aches all over and 100.5 temp when I got home n checked. Right breast is a little tender but I chalked it up to wearing a wired bra for the first time in a a week lol I don’t see anywhere where I should not continue to breastfeed or anything but I’m not going to go to the ER or anything just ride it out till tomorrow n see how I feel I guess. Is this just from engorgement or do u think I’m getting mastitis..... never had an issue with my first.

I called the L&D I had her at last week n they said that since there’s no redness or swelling just put heat on find any and all hard spots and push them out lol. So here I sit with heating pad on one boob while I have my Haaka on the other pushing away in my boobies lol I’ve gotten like 6oz out between both breasts from doing this and also nursed on both sides as well to get LO back to sleep. I was so ready for an early night tonight when we got home with both girls asleep!! Never a dull moment let me tell ya!

You can definitely keep breastfeeding, but you need to go to the doctor/emergency ASAP. You can go downhill so fast from mastitis it can’t wait until tomorrow

Definitely sounds like mastitis. Same symptoms I had with my second daughter. I would call you doctor in the morning and they will call you in an antibiotic. I recommend using heat and messaging in front of any clogs you have. And nursing/pumping as frequently as possible on the tender side!
