Name reveal before or after birth?

I feel like these days I’m seeing everyone not only choosing their baby’s name and sharing with family and friends before giving birth, but also full-on posting name announcements before the baby is born?

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I always imagined that the name would be something I kept between myself and my husband (and maybe my mom and a close friend or two...) but would wait to publicly announce it until the baby was born.

I feel like I’d be so nervous that I’d meet the baby and then realize the name we chose doesn’t suit him/her, and then at the point where you’ve already announced it it seems a little silly to tell EVERYONE that you’ve changed your mind?

Idk y’all hahah. Of course it’s a matter of personal preference and nothing wrong with either way, I’m just curious how many people feel the same way I do, vs people who are announcing the name while still pregnant. And what are your reasonings either way!
