Feeling sad after family leaves ?

Question

My daughter was born July 18 and my parents arrived to visit us that next day all the way home from Seattle (we live in North Carolina and it has been a year since seeing them). Today they left after visiting for over two weeks. Since they’ve left I’ve felt tearful and it’s been easy to cry. I haven’t felt sad at all with them here. I believe it’s only situational, but was curious if anyone else has had these emotions after family has left ?

I haven’t seen my mom in a year, she lives in California and I’m in Illinois, but she’s finally coming to visit tomorrow for the whole month (maybe 2)! I had my son 4 weeks ago and it’s been really hard not having her with me since she’s been at all of her grandsons births (4 total including my new son). I don’t even want to think about how I’m gonna feel when she leaves. We’re so close and have talked everyday over FaceTime since the last time she was here. I can’t wait to see her beautiful face tomorrow!

My mother is still at our place and I really don’t want her to leave yet... I’m dreading it. Like suddenly the magic comfort bubble will pop and I’ll be struggling. I wish she could stay for a year.

I felt that way when my husband went back to work he only had 5 days off with us and I felt alone and kind of scared to watch baby by myself. With time it’s gotten easier now I feel like baby and I have a schedule but it was rough at first.

My mom is here with me in PA from TX for 6 weeks and she’s 3 weeks in. I know I’ll be a basket case after she leaves. It’s so normal, especially since our hormones have gone crazy!

I live 5 minutes maybe less from my moms. So the first week I’d go to her house for a few hours but once home id get hit with just sadness. Husband would drop us off there in order to stop it. We live with my in laws but even with that and being with my supportive husband I still felt sad.

Feel the same way. My mom and mother in law left yesterday and I cried. They helped me so much the last 2 weeks, I would have been lost without them. We will get through it though, stay strong mama!

Yeah...  my mom is here right now for a week & my husband just went back to work. When I had one baby, I felt ready to be on my own. But with two, I try to cry every time I think about being on my own. It’s been really hard to balance two little lives when I can’t even manage to get two hrs of solid sleep at night.

I felt the same way! My parents  came up to Wisconsin from New Mexico for two weeks when my daughter was born  and I have been sad every since they left. Definitely the hormones don’t help but I felt no sadness until they left. Same boat and hoping it will pass. ( makes me want to move
