Question

I asked my doctor could I get a c-section and she totally thrown it out the window. Stating that since it’s my first baby they are not going to give me one etc. Have anyone else doctor told them this.

Most doctors will refuse unless its medically needed. You can't just choose to have one because you want one.

A c-section isn’t something you elect for its more for medical reasons I.e breach baby, non advancing labor, fetal distress.

Yeah, you’re very rarely going to find a doctor to do an elective c-section as most see it going against the Hippocratic oath and your insurance won’t cover that. 
It’s major surgery to get just because you choose to...it costs more and the recovery is longer.

If it makes you feel better, I’m pregnant w my second and I had a vaginal delivery with my first. I may have to have a section because he is breech. I’m devastated. Even after labor and vaginal delivery, I’d still rather have labor and vagina delivery than a major abdominal surgery. C-section is a much tougher and longer recovery time. Labor wasn’t bad, and I’m honestly saddened that I won’t be able to labor and deliver this baby. The epidural
Doesn’t hurt, and before the epidural the contractions are painful but not unbearable, once you get the epidural

Firstly this is an ignorant wish! Bringing risk for u and baby for no reason. U should be thankful tot his doctor for not jeopardizing you and your babies health. C sections are for medical need only and should be kept that way. It’s not a volunteer program. Please get some education

It might be a matter of policy. I was initially interested in a elective c-section (like you) and did some research with my insurance and found that if the c-section was medically necessary then it was covered by my insurance but if I elected to have a c-section when I didn’t medically NEED one then it was going to be pretty much $10000 out out of pocket (versus the $2000-3000 we ended up paying for vaginal birth).

I would never want a c section my first two were vaginal and my third I labored for 20hrs and no progress and emergency c section bcz his heart rate kept dropping from the pitocin and the recovery was not as bad as I thought I honestly think it was easier than both vaginal recoveries I had no pain by day three and was back to my normal self at a week and bleeding stopped at two weeks out that was last July and the only thing is the scar is itchy but it wasn’t the plan but baby was pinned and stuck with feet over his head and even tho I could pick babies due date this time and do a repeat c section this is my fourth and possibly my last so I kinda want to have a natural birth which my drs have agreed to do only thing is I have to have the epidural Incase my uterus ruptured and need emergency surgery I would take the longer recovery of a natural birth and sore vagina for my last chance at a natural birth u can’t get that kind of experience and bond like that

I asked for a c-section, the OB looked at me weird and asked why.  I have two reasons, 1...the baby is going for adoption and I don't want to remember a baby that isn't mine.   2...I have a previous spinal injury and hip problems.  Spent 6.5 years learning to walk, I wasnt going to lose my legs for a baby that isnt mine.  So she considered it and said she will do a c-section.  
You might want to change OBs, the first OB I had refused the idea.  Later I found out the hospital was being sued because she botched two c-sections.  My current OB was recommended, and she has an outstanding record for clean safe c-sections.
