I get paid for 6 weeks but FMLA covers my job for 12

I took 4 weeks before (due to my job not making proper accommodations my doctor pulled me out) and I’ll have 6 weeks after birth unless I have a c section, then I’ll get 8. That’s all covered under FMLA. Then NJ offers the Family Leave Act which offers another 12 weeks job protection (6 paid/6 unpaid). So I can be off for a maximum of 24 weeks covered under two separate laws.

12 weeks. 6 weeks paid at 60%, with the option to take another 6 weeks using saved up PTO. I was able to save 160 hours of PTO so I will get paid most of the 12 weeks.

I would like to take 12 weeks off but in all honesty I don’t think I can afford to. I’m thinking two weeks off and then working part time. 
My parter will probably only take a few days off.
