Stinky umbilical cord?

My 1 week olds umbilical cord really stinks. Any advice on what to do with it?

Just leave it. It will dry up and fall off. My doctor said the smell is normal. If its red, inflamed, or oozing, then its infected. My little one's smelled soo bad to but it will fall off soon!

Smell is normal. Pediatrician said I could wipe with alcohol wipe to get rid of smell if it was bothering me.

My doctor said smell was a bad sign. My baby's got bloody and gooey but never smelled. Might be worth calling your pediatrician

It’s rotting flesh so will smell but as long as you keep it dry and clean it will heal fine :)
