My baby was born July 2nd!
It's a boy!!! 😁
We are really happy to have kept the surprise. I had a really good textbook pregnancy. I also have a high tolerance pain, so the birth surprisingly didn't hurt at all 😯
The morning of the 2nd, I woke up and felt kinda shitty. I had diarrhea and the feeling would not go away 😓 even if I was completely empty 😅
I could not feel any contractions from 6h30 till 8h, it was vague. Than I started feeling something that I could time. So I start counting. Every contraction was 1 minute long, every 5 minutes. I know I need to wait an hour to make sure it is not fake labour, and also I'm more comfortable labouring at home in ny stuff. I try to take a bath and relax. I could not stay in for long, I was just uncomfortable. My contrations are now 2 minutes apart only after 20 minutes of counting. So I call the hospital and they tell me to come get check to make sure and worse case scenario they will just send me back home. I call my husband who is at work so that he come pick me up. He arrives at 9h30-45 and we get to the hospital around 10h.
The nurse put me in the check up room and we monitor the baby's heart and my contractions. Everything is good, but since I'm a first time mom and I don't look really hurt or too uncomfortable, I'm at the bottom of the doctor's priority list (there was also a bunch of women giving birth in the same time 😅). The nurse shows my husband the pressure point in my back to help with the "pain", it did make me feel better 👍👍👍
10h30 come along and I go to the bathroom, I see some bleeding so the nurse go get the doctor to check me. The doctor finally checks me and you see her face change from a 😄 to a 😯... I'm at 8.5cm so we get transferred straight away in a delivery room 🤣🤣🤣
3-4 more contractions and my water breaks ( this specific contraction was he most intense one and I would say what hurt the most from the whole birth experience)
I start pushing at 11h. It's an interesting feeling! It's like when we vomit, that uncontrollable feeling, but it's pushing down insteads of up 🤣🤣🤣
At 12h15 my baby boy was born!!!
So it took me 3h at the hospital! A labour of ~5h, I am soooooo lucky!!!
I did tear "almost" 3rd degree, which sucks. I was still able to sit down properly tho.
Baby Elijah is now 1 month old
