Blood in my daughters diaper ?

She’s 5 days old I went to change her and seen this should I call the doctor or is this normal ?

As far as I know is normal (I have 3 girls) it is because of all the hormones transmitted from you to her during pregnancy. But, if it makes you feel better you can call the nurse line or her pediatrician just to be on the safe side. 😊

Normal! Look up pseudo-menstruation. 
Also look up “brick dust” as some babies have a reddish tint left in their diaper during those early days that may resemble blood but is actually concentrated urine/uric acid.

Do call. My daughter had a small bit of blood and yes, it was from the hormones in pregnancy from me and the drop of those levels after labour. The doctor said it is pretty usual. But do call just to be sure.

Like other ladies said, its a mini period due to the hormones passed onto baby from you.  It happened with my first daughter almost 9yrs ago.  Now its a little tidbit of info that I pass onto expecting moms so they dont stress.  My 2nd daughter didnt have it....each baby is different

I was told about this before we left the hospital. The nurse said basically because of the all the hormones in our bodies we can pass them onto baby girl and she can have like a ‘mini period’.

It’s normal for baby girls to have some bleeding after birth for a while due to moms hormones. It won’t hurt her, but if you want the peace of mind you can call her doctor and have them explain it to you.

Are you nursing? A friend of mines son had blood in his diapers and discovered it was due to something in her breast milk she naturally produced, and she had to switch to formula 😭
