I am 8 weeks and 1 days today and I just got told by my doctor that I am positive for having the SMN or SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) gene, and im kinda freaking out. My husband went and got his blood drawn today and we will find out in about a week whether or not he is a carrier as well. Can I hear some stories that are similar that have happy endings? Im trying to stay as positive as possible, but I'm terrified for my baby. I just need words of encouragement right now.
