Can cervical check cause labor to start?

I’m 39 weeks and just had a cervical check a couple hours ago. It was painful. Now I’m having menstual cramps and I’m really sore. Anyone have a similar experience? Wondering if I ahould just take a Tylenol and not get my hopes up.

Yes it can. Your doc probably did a membrane sweep and didn’t tell you.

It did for me with my first. I went into labor the next day and had my son the day after.

It did with this baby. Had a 2:00 appt, was 3cm. Started feeling cramps around 6:30 and baby girl arrived at 10:20 that night.

It can, but contractions, cramping, and soreness are normal. I always have consistent contractions for about 6-8 hours after a check.

I had mine yesterday he told me it should bring on the labor..my due is today n if it don't work I Will go in Friday to get induced.
