What’s the best way to discipline a child? Be honest.

Calm and collected. Scold, put them in timeout, explain their actions to them. 
Shouting at kids isn’t helpful nor is spanking.

I'm not going to hit my child while at the same time telling them it's not nice to hit..how stupid is that?

It’s about knowing when it’s okay to just talk to them and when it’s okay to smack them . I smack my child’s hand when he does something he is not suppose to but first  I will tell him atleast 3 times . My son is 13 months and at the age of 9 months he knew what no means .. he knows to sit down when he is eating and knows when to come to me . Smacking your child does not make you a bad parent .. there is a fine line between discipline and abuse .

I physically put my child in time out and it works great. Before time out and after it, we have a little chat about her behavior and the expectations. Time out only lasts 30-60 seconds. She’s on my 2.5 y/o. I don’t spank her. Spanking is detrimental to children’s development.

Definitely the best would be verbally but not all kids respond to that. I never have been or will be a spanker but I understand some kids need a tap on the hand or bum
