At my appointment yesterday where I was 38 weeks exactly, the ultrasound tech told me that this baby is measuring bigger than my last. Approximately 8 lbs 1 oz and a week ahead for everything else. She was pretty much right on with my first daughter on the weight (I went into labor the day after the ultrasound) so I trust that she's correct.

I tore with my first daughter who was 7lbs 12 oz, so I'm terrified to go to 40 weeks and have a 8 1/2 or 9 lbs baby. I want to labor without an epidural because it messed me up so badly last time. I doubt I'd be able to handle it with such a big baby.

Did anyone else have a big baby without an epidural and were you able to cope with the pain?
